Sharing January’s seasonal produce guide to help you find fruits and vegetables that are in season to create Mediterranean diet inspired recipes all month long.

Why Eat Seasonal Produce?

Eating fruits and vegetables from an array of different colors is a great way to ensure you are getting key nutrients from food. Each color offers their own health benefits, so eating the rainbow gives you the whole combo.

In our on-going effort to cut back our grocery bill while simultaneously eating a colorful array of fruits and vegetables, I’ve been relying on seasonal produce guides. Seasonal produce guides let you know which fruits and vegetables are in their peak season during the year.

Using fruits and vegetables when they are in season is an easy way to

  1. Ensure the best tasting produce
  2. Save money at the store
  3. Support local farms

I’m also taking it one step further and sharing some great looking recipes that I’m excited to try this month that fit into the January Seasonal Produce Guide. Using the Seasonal Produce Guide is a great way to discover new ingredients and find new recipes.
