Ingredients

For the Gingerbread Syrup

  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 inch fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Putting the Gingerbread Latte Together

  • 1 tbsp Gingerbreaad Syrup
  • 8 oz freshly brewed coffee
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Freshly Grated Cinnamon for garnish, if desired

Instructions

Gingerbread Syrup

  • In a small pot, add the molasses, water, thinly sliced ginger, cinnamon, ground cloves and ground nutmeg. OVer medium heat, bring the mixture to a strong boil
  • Once boiling, turn off the heat, add the vanilla and allow to cool (about 10 minutes)
  • Once cooled, straint through a fine mesh strainer (or cheesecloth) into a jar

Gingerbread Latte

  • Start by brewing your coffee. For this recipe I used the Mr. Coffee® At-Home Pour Over coffee maker
  • Next you'll want to steam/heat your milk and cream mixture. Please note that you don't have to use cream if you don't want to, you can just use 1/2 cup of milk instead. I used a milk steamer that also froths the milk. If you don't have a steamer or milk frother, just heat the milk/cream until it's warm
  • In a large coffee mug, add 1 tablespoon of Gingerbread Syrup
  • Pour freshly brewed coffee into mug and stir lightly
  • Add steamed/frothed milk on top and garnish with freshly grated cinnamon if desired
