What’s the Best Part of a Salad?
I know I’m not alone when I say that it’s obviously the dressing. Which is a lucky coincidence since we are sharing the BEST Pomegranate Dressing.
A good salad dressing can take a normal bowl of salad from “meh” to “come to mama”. We are no stranger to homemade dressings here. Some of our favorites include this Lemon Vinaigrette, Sumac Dressing, and Homemade Ranch.
Since fall is here, we wanted to take a seasonal ingredient and create a new dressing. Pomegranates are such a gorgeous fruit that are in their peak season from September to December. They have a bold and tangy flavor that would spruce up any salad.
Benefits of Pomegranate Juice
The base of this dressing uses pomegranate juice. We used bottled Pomegranate Juice to keep it simple. If you want to make your own pomegranate juice from the actual fruit, this is an amazing tutorial on How to Make Your Own Pomegranate Juice.

One of our favorites is the pomegranate juice from POM Wonderful. They have an amazing science tab on their website that discusses the benefits of pomegranates and pomegranate juice. Including the fact that pomegranate juice is –
- A great source of antioxidants, that can help protect your cells and DNA from the harmful effects of free radicals and improve the aging process in adults
- Undergoing more research on it’s positive effects on memory and cognition
- Being studied for it’s improvements on post-workout muscle strength recovery

Easy and delicious. I cut the recipe in half as I only needed enough for a large salad. Rather than whisking I just put it all in a jar and shook it up to blend everything.
Thanks so much Jeanne and I great tip on shaking it in the jar!
