A Holiday Lunch with Friends
Instead of exchanging gifts with my friends, we typically get together for a holiday lunch or dinner. We all have kids and families, so instead of spending money we choose to spend time together.
I wanted to make something that I though everyone would love, wasn’t too complicated and was packed with delicious flavors but that wouldn’t have us all stuffed and lethargic after lunch.
A Spicy Brussels Sprout Slaw
Turkey burgers can often end up being a bit on the dry side. So it’s important to add flavors that really pack a punch.
Instead of traditional coleslaw, I created this flavor packed slaw using Paisley Farm Hot Brussels Sprouts.
They have a whole line of fresh flavors that are ready to serve straight out of the jar. This is important to me because it makes mealtime easier and more fun!
This spicy Brussels Sprout Slaw features shredded brussels sprouts, carrots, and sun-dried tomatoes. It’s so delicious and honestly I ate it straight out of the bowl after devouring my turkey burger.
Putting The Turkey Burger Together
The secret to these burgers – layering all the ingredients so each bite is a combo of flavors!
I like to toast the buns and then add dijon mustard, arugula, the turkey burger itself, grilled red onions and then top it all off with the spicy slaw.
The end result – a turkey burger so big you have to practically unhinge your jaw to get a bite. Yep, you are definitely going to need extra napkins for this one!
