Dry Rub BBQ Chicken #RecipeMakeover

This Dry Rub BBQ Chicken recipe offers a healthy alternative to bbq sauces and provides a great, smokey flavor on your grilled chicken.

I’m rounding out this #RecipeMakeover Week with a simple, delicious recipe for the main event…BBQ’d chicken.

My Love for BBQ Chicken

I love the smokey and tangy flavor that barbecued chicken provides. However, many bottled bbq sauces contain so much sugar and other additives that I tend not to use them. I’ve tried making my own bbq sauce but they never give a really great flavor.

Then I discovered dry rubs. They provide the same great flavor as bbq sauce but usually with less sugar and I’ve found that they don’t burn as quickly as sauces do.

Creating a dry rub is easy, you can customize the spices you use based on your tastes. Then you simply rub it onto the chicken (or whatever you are grilling), place in the fridge for ~30 minutes and grill normally.

This Dry Rub BBQ Chicken recipe is the perfect combination of heat, spice, and smokey flavor without overpowering the chicken or leaving you with a bad taste in your mouth. Needless to say there weren’t any leftovers after making this for the family last week!

I paired mine with this Creamy Potato Salad recipe and Jalapeño Lime Slaw and was so full afterwards!

Definitely going to be adding this to our summer BBQ rotation!
