I hate admitting this out loud because it makes me sound weird but seriously one of my favorite foods is salad. Before you roll your eyes, hear me out.
I’m not talking about your little puny green side salads consisting of lettuce with some shredded carrots. I’m talking about big salads with all the fixings…loaded with veggies, hard boiled eggs, bacon, avocado, etc. Take me to a salad bar and I’m like a kid on Christmas morning.
That being said, the healthiest of salads can be ruined with high calorie dressings. Add ranch dressing to what started out as a nutritious meal and you might as well just have a bowl of ice cream for dinner. And let’s face it, oil and vinegar is like the equivalent of getting socks for Christmas.
Well let me introduce you to my obsession this week…….Fresh Avocado Vinaigrette.
This salad dressing is the answer to my prayers! It’s from Cindy’s Kitchen, which is a company that produces dressings (and other products) made with all natural ingredients. Meaning it doesn’t contain a bunch of chemicals and preservatives. Read the ingredient list and you’ll see just natural ingredients listed (water, avocado, lime, etc).
This particular dressing is a little spicy, which I like. I made a big Cobb Salad the other day and used this Avocado Vinaigrette and I was hooked! It’s creamy (from avocado) so it’s not like other vinaigrettes. Even my husband liked it and he really doesn’t like salad very much.
I also used it as a marinade on steak earlier this week when making steak tacos and it was so amazing!
Check out Cindy’s Kitchen online (here) to find out more about their company and to find their products. I purcahsed mine at my local Safeway in the produce section. I can’t wait to try their other dressings.
Pro Tip: Use it a dressing, a marinade for chicken or even mix with a little bit of greek yogurt to add on tacos!
