My favorite banana bread recipe to make on a regular basis, with the addition of chocolate chips of course.
I’m Definitely Not a Baker
My mom is an amazing baker. Anytime I visit her house, she has no less than 2 baked goods offered up on her counter. Muffins, banana bread, brownies, cookies…you name it, she baked it.
I prefer cooking over baking. Most likely because I find baking takes much more measuring, patience, and skill. With cooking, I often find myself winging things in the kitchen. I hate measuring out ingredients and love that you can often just substitute one ingredient for another without changing the whole dish.
In baking, if you don’t have a certain ingredient you can’t really switch it out with something else.
I certainly appreciate people that bake though as I often enjoy the fruits of their labor. I’ll never turn down a cookie. Or a slice of pie. Or a brownie.
My Favorite Banana Bread Recipe
I’ve tried many different banana bread recipes over the years and finally found one that I love.
This Best Banana Bread Recipe from Add a Pinch is my go to recipe. It’s adapted from her grandmother’s recipe. I love when recipes are passed down and changed slightly from generation to generation.
It’s simple, easy to follow and made with ingredients I tend to have on hand. I always add a few chocolate chips because I think it just makes a little more special.
It goes absolutely wonderfully with this Homemade Gingerbread Latte too!
Other Bakers I Love
Since I know my strengths and weaknesses, I don’t try to create my own baked goods recipes often.
Other than just shopping the baked goods section on my mom’s kitchen counter, these are two bloggers whose recipes I love baking at home…
Kroll’s Korner
Tawnie from Kroll’s Korner is a fellow dietitian and is always posting these amazing baked good recipes. I’ve tried many of her muffin recipes at home and always find them fantastic.
The Baking Fairy
Valentina from The Baking Fairy has quickly become a blogging buddy and always wows me with her dessert recipes. She is such a rock star in the kitchen.
I’m so happy to hear that you enjoy my Banana Bread recipe, Brynn! My family has loved this for so many years too!
Thanks so much for the sweet words and for telling your readers about it too!
