The Easiest Vinaigrette Recipe I Learned on TikTok

We credit TikTok for teaching us this life hack. It’s the Easiest Vinaigrette Recipe and is as simple as 3-2-1-1.

Homemade salad dressings are so much better than store bought in my opinion. However, sometimes I barely have the energy to open a bag of spring mix and put it on a plate. That’s where this Tiktok recipe came in handy – it’s the Easiest Vinaigrette Recipe ever. Plus it’s easy to remember.

The Easiest Vinaigrette Recipe

I saw this recipe on Alex Guarnaschelli’s Tik Tok page and now it’s my go to salad dressing.

The ingredients are simple – olive oil, vinegar, dijon, water.

Even simpler are the measurements – 3, 2, 1, 1

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp water

You just can’t go wrong. It’s quick, simple and uses common pantry items. I put mine in a glass jar, put the lid on and shake it up.

What To Use it For

I make this dressing every time we have a salad. It’s great on regular old lettuce based salads or even different types like this Greek Salad. You could also use it on chicken, fish, or even roasted vegetables.

This recipe got a lot of comments on social media about adding honey or maple syrup for sweetener.

  • If you like your dressing on the sweeter side, I say go ahead and add 1 tablespoon of honey/syrup. I don’t really like a sweet dressing, especially since I tend to add fresh fruit to salads, so I omit it.
  • I also shy away from salt. I think we all eat way too much salt and that it isn’t necessary in this recipe. However, if you want to add salt, then you do you.
  • For salads I tend to add fresh cracked pepper right on the top of the salad, so that’s why I don’t add pepper to the dressing.
