Dry January

Every year my husband and I decide to participate in a Dry January. Which simply means we don’t drink any alcohol for the entire month. I’ll be sharing more about our decision to go dry for a month later this week but in a nutshell, we use it as a reset, recharge and to save a bit of money after a busy holiday season.

Since we are going dry, I thought it would be fun to still have a few “mocktail” recipes on hand to enjoy once in awhile. Mocktail is just a cute word for cocktail without the alcohol.

This Cranberry Moscow Mule Mocktail is so refreshing, It has all the same great flavors as an original Moscow Mule (like ginger and lime) but zero alcohol.

It’s fun, festive and anything that lets me use my copper Moscow Mule mugs is always a plus.

What You’ll Need for this Mocktail

  • Cranberry Juice – be sure to get 100% cranberry juice since cranberry juice cocktail has a lot of added sugar
  • Ginger Beer – technically non-alcoholic, ginger beer is a fermented blend of water, sugar and ginger. It’s robust and spicy and gives this mocktail a great flavor. If you don’t want to use ginger beer, you can replace with ginger ale or just sparkling water
  • Lime – fresh lime helps blend all the flavors together and in my opinion, the more lime the better when it comes to a Moscow mule
  • Garnish – the garnishes are optional but I think they really dress up the drink and make it fun. I like to add frozen, whole cranberries and little bit of fresh mint
