Intimidating Recipes
Sometimes there are certain foods that I never try making because I think they are too hard. The majority of the time though I find that the opposite is true and they are actually easy to make.
Previous examples of these types of foods include – gnocchi and curries. Last year I checked one of those items off my list. I made this amazing Brown Butter & Sage Gnocchi that is still one of my favorite recipes to make. I still have yet to try my hand at making a curry, but I have that on my list of recipes to try this fall.
These Savory Lavash Crackers are something I never imagined making. I had no clue how to even go about making crackers until I was introduced to lavash while making this casserole.
Lavash Crackers
Since then, I’ve become a huge lavash fan and picked up another pack of whole grain California Lavash while at the store last week. I was working on a fun snack for game day and tried my hand at turning the lavash into crackers.
I could not believe how EASY it was! In fact, after I made them once, I jumped onto facebook live to make a second batch. You can catch the replay of the facebook live here, if you need proof that it’s super simple and quick to make!
Tons of Toppings
These Savory Lavash Crackers feature dukkah – a blend of nuts, spices, and sesame seeds. I get it in the spice aisle at trader joe’s, but you could easily google it and pull of a recipe to make it yourself if you can’t locate it in your local store.
I also love these lavash crackers because you can customize them and create all types of delicious flavors. Rosemary & Garlic, Everything But The Bagel Seasoning Blend or just simple salt and pepper would be amazing.

Savory Lavash Crackers
Ingredients
- 3 sheets whole grain lavash
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp dukkah spice blend or spices of your choosing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Cut your lavash sheets into equal square size cuts
- (I cut each sheet into 4 strips, then cut each strip into 6 equal squares)
- Lay each square piece of lavash onto a baking sheet, being careful not to overlap the squares
- Brush the top of each lavash square with olive oil and top with dukkah (or whatever spice blend you prefer)
- Place on the top rack of the oven for 5-6 minutes, until crackers are brown and crispy
- Allow to cool before serving
I went to eat the leftovers… And, there weren’t any!

Thanks for the inspiration! Your idea is going on our buffet line at dinner tonight in one of our Residential Dining Halls at the plant based station!
Wow, thanks so much I love this!
Hi,
Savory lavash crackers looking yum.
I have a question, no need to add salt here?
Thank you.
Hi Silpa, thanks for stopping by! I didn’t use salt because I felt like the dukkah spice blend was flavorful enough. You could add salt though if you feel it needs it but I didn’t think it did.
These look delicious… and super simple to make! I’m going to have to look for the lavash sheets next time I’m out.
These are super duper easy! Can’t wait to make a batch of these!

I sprayed the whole sheet with oil first, but, and added the topping. Much easier. Thanks!
