Spicy Yogurt Sauce
We recently ordered takeout from a local Greek restaurant and it came with a spicy yogurt sauce that was fantastic. We immediately started recipe testing to create our own version.
It’s creamy and easy to make. Just a few ingredients are required –
- plain Greek yogurt (we used full fat since you only need a little bit of the sauce anyway)
- lemon juice
- minced garlic
- sriracha (or hot sauce of your choice)
- salt & pepper
- cumin and cayenne pepper
Spicy Yogurt Sauce
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp sriracha (or hot sauce of choice)
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
Ways to use Spicy Yogurt Sauce
This Spicy Yogurt Sauce is so versatile and can be used to flavor so many dishes. Some ideas include –
- grilled chicken
- as a dip for veggies
- in place of hummus or tzatziki for dipping pita chips, bread, chips, etc
