If you close your eyes and think about one of your favorite comfort food meals, what would you picture?

I have a few that come to mind, but one of my all time favorites is creamy tomato soup. Typically served with a crisp and gooey grilled cheese sandwich, like this Tomato Jam Grilled Cheese from Foodal.

Have you ever dunked a grilled cheese triangle into tomato soup…it’s heaven on earth.

I’m excited to report that my little kiddos also love tomato soup, so it’s become an easy meal to pull together during the week.

Creamy Tomato Soup – A Pantry Staple

I recently discovered this Pacific Foods Organic Creamy Tomato Soup at my local grocery store. I had heard good things about this brand and was interested to try it out myself.

The flavor is really, really good. Super creamy and rich tasting without being too heavy. I also like that this tomato soup has 5 grams of protein per cup. Sometimes it’s hard to get my kids to eat a lot of protein so I’m always excited to find foods that they like that provide them with a little bit more.

Budget Friendly Dinner Idea

The soup is reasonable priced in my opinion, I believe it’s about $3 for a carton near me. The carton easily provides my family of 4 a full bowl of soup, so it’s less than $1 a serving.
