Sharing what we are focusing on in the new year with our 2024 ins and outs for the Mediterranean Diet and Lifestyle.

I’m not sure if keeping up with new trends should be an in or an out, but instead of New Year’s Goals or Resolutions this year, we are focusing on 2024 Ins and Outs for the Mediterranean Diet & Lifestyle.

Please keep in mind that these are just suggestions and some of our own personal goals for the new year. Everyone is different, everyone’s needs are different, homes are different, etc.

2024 Ins

This year we are focusing on adding more instead of eliminating.

  • adding more veggies
  • fiber rich foods
  • more sleep
  • more hydration, less drinking
  • making more foods at home
  • more friends over, less spending going out

We are participating in Dry January again this year which I’m looking forward to. We’ve cut back a bit lately on drinking and just love that it helps –

  • save money
  • better sleep
  • less teeth stain
  • better health overall
  • heart rate better
  • less headaches

Check out some of our favorite Mocktail Recipes if you are also looking to cut back.

2024 Outs

Our “outs” for the new year focus a lot on cutting back on expenses, especially when it comes to food. Groceries are so expensive right now, as is going out to eat. In order to save money, we are trying the following –

  • making more items at home instead of purchasing (salad dressing, dips, sauces)
  • inviting others over for meals instead of paying to eat out
  • less fast food when we have groceries at home

Reducing alcohol consumption is also heavily influenced in our “outs” this year. Not only to save money, but for better health and better sleep.

The remaining outs really just try to focus on making exercise a daily habit, instead of always seeming to be last on our to do list.
