A lighter and healthier version of the original classic, this Baja inspired margarita is simple, fresh and delicious!
Inspired by Baja
Dan makes the best margaritas! He was inspired to perfect his recipe after we stayed at this cute little resort in Baja a few years ago and lived off of $1 margaritas. I’m not exaggerating when I admit that for 2 full days, we drank nothing but margaritas and ate homemade tortillas. It was wonderful!
We’ve always loved margaritas, but sometimes you can only drink one before getting that acidic burning feeling in your throat from too much sweet and sour. Not to mention that many margaritas contain a lot of sugar from added sweetener and syrups. Check out a previous post about the calorie content of popular cocktails here.
A Light and Fresh Margarita
This margarita recipe is a lighter version of a classic margarita.
Made with fresh lime juice and agave nectar, they don’t cause that burn in your throat so you can enjoy more than one (drink responsibly!).
Plus they aren’t made with sweet & sour, so they contain a lot less sugar than typical margaritas. The key is the splash of water at the end, a tip from our bartender in Baja!
