Crispy Pasta Chips

These Pasta Chips are a Tik Tok Sensation recipe and puts a fun, new spin on an old classic. Pasta takes a crispy chip form and tastes amazing dipped in this easy, spicy marinara sauce.

What Exactly are Pasta Chips?

We can credit good old Tik Tok for this viral recipe…it’s more than just dancing folks. Pasta Chips are basically cooked pasta, typically tossed in oil and herbs, then crisped up in the air fryer. The end result are deliciously crunchy, crispy pasta that you can dip into a plethora of sauces.

What Type of Pasta Should You Use

The type of pasta is pretty much up to your preference. However, I wouldn’t use spaghetti, linguini, angel hair, or fettuccini. The shorter, wider types of pasta work best since you want to be able to use your fingers to pick them up and dip them.

We’ve tried a few different types of pasta and our favorites include bowties, penne, and rotini. The ridges in these types of pasta help the sauce stick. One of our favorites for making gluten free pasta chips is this Banza Cavatappi pasta.

Flavoring the Pasta

We lightly flavor the pasta after it cooks with a bit of olive oil, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried basil. Just enough so that each pasta chip has a mild flavor. You don’t want to over power the pasta with heavy spices, especially if you are serving with a dipping sauce.

You’ll want to flavor the pasta before adding it to the air fryer.

Dipping Sauces

For this recipe, we kept it simple with a jar of marinara sauce that we jazzed up a little bit with red pepper flakes and fresh basil.

  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

  • Cook pasta according to package instructions, until al dente. Drain and transfer to large bowl
  • Add olive oil, 3 tbsp parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder and dried basil to drained pasta. Stir to mix well, so that all pasta is coating with oil and herbs
