Sometimes the hardest part of incorporating a Mediterranean Inspired Diet into your life is coming up with meal ideas.

No matter how much you love meal planning (and I actually really like it), there are times when you just get stuck or uninspired.

My Family’s Weekly Menu

I thought it would be fun to share my weekly dinner meal plan. It’s a great way to get new meal ideas and links to great recipes. It’s also a way to share how my family and I are incorporating the principles of the mediterranean diet into our way of life.

I’m only sharing dinner (so far), since lunch is typically leftovers from the night before or a grain based salad. If you guys are interested I can also share breakfast and lunch ideas in the future, just let me know if that’s something you would like to see.

My Mediterranean Diet Philosophy

These are the Guidelines for The Mediterranean Diet that I try to fit into our meals and lifestyle. Please note that it doesn’t always go according to our plan and that is perfectly fine. I use my weekly menu as a guide for buying groceries and meals but sometimes life happens and it doesn’t follow this plan exactly as written.

This Week’s Menu

(November 4-10)

Sunday –

Cast Iron Skillet Salmon, with Kale & Cranberry Salad (purchased from Trader Joe’s)

 

Monday –

Sriracha Peanut Naan Pizza from Sara Haas, Culinary Dietitian, with sliced cucumbers & carrots with Whipped Feta Dip

 

Tuesday –

Grilled Shrimp sautéed with Lemon, Garlic and Capers, served with Butternut Squash Soup (purchased from Trader Joe’s) and Yellow Curry Chopped Salad (purchased from Trader Joe’s)

 

Wednesday –

Dukkah Roasted Chicken (recipe coming soon) served with Sautéed Spinach and Mushrooms with Garlic & Thyme

 

Thursday –

Red Wine Braised Chicken & Spinach (recipe coming soon) and Whole Grain Pasta

 

Friday –

Turkey Burger with Caramelized Onions from Rachael Ray (we like to wrap them in lettuce) served with Greek Salad

 

Saturday

Leftovers or Go Out
